January 19, 2002 - Super X Studios, creators of the award-winning Far Gate strategy game, have announced their next 3D creation: Desktop Dreamscapes, Volume 1: Outer Space. Desktop Dreamscapes is a radical new way to utilize 3D graphics technology - it replaces your static Windows desktop with a living 3D window into outer space.

Desktop Dreamscapes is quite unlike any other program. It runs in the background, making use of wasted processor time and rendering resources, to render ever-changing, stunningly beautiful scenes of the cosmos right on your desktop, while you continue to use your computer as normal. Intelligent monitoring ensures that 3D resources are released when other games or applications need them.
